We’d like to congratulate Sarena, our mortgage and protection administrator, on passing her CeMAP module 1 exam with a Merit. This is the first of three exams on her path to earning her Certificate in Mortgage Advice and Practice (CeMAP) and becoming a qualified Mortgage Adviser. Well done Sarena!
How did you find the exam?
The exam was quite difficult as it was very broad, covering many aspects of financial services and regulation. There was a lot to go through but I managed my time well and passed both units with a Merit.
Do you think passing this exam will help you in your current and future role at Choice?
The topics covered in this module have given me a greater depth of knowledge which will be useful in my role as an administrator, and when I become an adviser. I now understand the importance behind everything I do in practice.

The next module is purely Mortgages! I plan to start studying for this module now, with the view of sitting the exam when I feel ready.
What study tips can you give to other team members taking exams?
I created a weekly revision plan which really helped me in the build up to the exam. It was important for me to find a good work, life and revision balance but also to avoid last minute cramming. I also found it useful to vary my learning styles – I downloaded podcasts, used the text book and purchased past papers. The best piece of advice I could give would be to find a revision technique that best suits you – and stick to it.
